Having any pet is something that pretty much anyone can appreciate. Fortunately, there are so many domesticated animals that a person can choose from and they all are usually great pets. Regardless of the type of animal that it may be, it is important to understand that they are very beneficial for a lot of reasons. Pretty much since the dawn of man, there have been pets that people have used for companionship, as well as some sort of tool. Although they have been pretty popular with celebrities in recent times, they are really not that much of a fad. They will continue to be very popular, regardless of what socialite may be carrying them in a carrier. Not only is the small dog fiercely loyal, they are also pretty easy to maintain and feed.

Usually, when people think about these animals, they generally think of women. Although this may be something that may have been popularized by the media, this is usually not so. Many men have small dogs, and they love them just as much as women, as they make for a great pet. They have the same mental attributes and behaviors as the larger dog and they are just as loving. And while they may not be as strong as bigger dogs, they make up for this in other ways.

With bigger dogs, they tend to be a little more stubborn, not to mention that they eat a lot of food. This makes the small dog an amazing choice for many people. They can take better care of them by being able to buy some of the more pricey stuff when it comes to food and other things that the dog owner may find pertinent when it comes to their little bundle of joy.

The small dog is great in another respect too. There is also the potential to dress them up and there are a plethora of items that are catered to the small dog, as those are generally the breeds of dogs that owners like to dress up. There are not very many things that are cuter than a little dog dressed in a little shirt.

For the pet owner who is pretty unsure as far as what they may want in a dog, they should really look into acquiring a small dog. These little dogs are hands down the best way to go, especially if the pet owner may want to play dress up. These dogs could be a great gift for basically anyone, they do not particularly have to be a female.
